Dunce - Black Cat Theory
This time we changed from the scenes of the rehearsal spaces and set up camp and the lovely home of Gene and Aly to record Dunce.
Aly is my old flatmate from first year and I’ve been to see every iteration of her band, the latest is her most exciting with clear influence from Gene and his oddball electronic pop he made with the previous version of Kiosk.
Our first use of the telephone mic and it really elevated the recording. The cute keys and lush guitar gave the whole piece this glittery feel, whilst Aly’s vocal performance shone - a perfect song for lo-fi.
