Originally meant to be a practice session between me and my mate Rowan, former drummer of Welfare State. However, Rowan’s mate William had just come over from California and was keen to come along to Eiger Studios.

On the car ride over, we discussed our love for Slowcore and Duster, William discussing similarities with his band in the States. We decided to lean into these influences and record this song on the fly.

William’s brooding guitar twinges as Rowan rolls on the drums - ‘Ride’ being the main influence for the latter. We tried to add bass and considered lyrics, but sometimes less is more with a track like this. Still a track that people reference when talking about Contact Buzz
